In Cambodia, I was joined by my dad, and we traveled across the country for a month. The history of this place is fascinating, and behind every smile hides a deeply painful chapter that happened only fifty years ago, one that most people of our generation don't even know about.
From the intensity of Phnom Penh, to the calm southern coast, to the outstanding wildlife of the east, to the breathtaking lost city of Angkor... every part of the country told a different story. In the south, I witnessed a fire show for the first time and took some of my favorite shots. Along the way, I also saw rescued elephants, freed from forced labor and now living in protected areas in the jungle.
But what marked me the most was the floating village. Seeing families living so closely together with only what a human truly needs, yet offering the brightest smiles, and children running everywhere with complete freedom. It was a precious lesson in humility.
