I traveled across central Mongolia for three weeks as part of a small organized tour. I wanted a small group. I've always felt it's the best way to truly connect with people and avoid the school-trip kind of travel. I ended up with a 45-year-old Englishman and a 60-year-old American, together with our guide and driver. To my surprise, the energy was perfect.

Along the way, we camped in the nature or stayed with nomadic families who opened their homes and showed us their way of living. It was a life-changing experience, as everything separates us from their way of thinking and being. And even though the landscape can look the same for hundreds of kilometers, I never got bored of driving through the endless steppes of this extraordinary country.
